Concert

Every year, European concert halls select six Rising Stars who spend a year travelling from city to city to cement a reputation for themselves as an emerging talent. In the first week of the Easter holiday German violinist Lea Hausmann, British cellist Samuel Shephard and Dutch/Chinese pianist Mengjie Han of the Amatis Piano Trio take to the stage at BOZAR. They will perform piano trios by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Shostakovich and Haydn, as well as a new work written specially for them by Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi. They are skilled performers, winning the audience prize at the Grachtenfestival Concours in Amsterdam only weeks after forming their piano trio. This was the first of several awards. Violinist and professor Daniel Hope noted that “This outstanding ensemble is well on the way to building a successful international career”.
