In co-presentation with Charleroi danse

At a time when our landmarks crumble, and when we are facing ever-greater concerns about our future, how do we tackle the resistance of bodies? If we were to observe and experiment like children do, with their slow and patient construction of a form followed by its rapid collapse “like a Kapla castle”, through which states, which images, emotions and reactions would we move?

With Collapse, Julien Carlier explores our points of equilibrium and fall, inspired as ever by an exploration of boundaries, a reflection on our sensitivity and gravity. In this show, dancers become objects, which can be manipulated or manipulators, in a scenography imagined as a playground, providing freedom and constraint. In search of elevation, standing or collapsing, stable or unstable, irrespective of our position, our intention, ‘we are all – as the choreographer notes – constantly busy dancing trying to regain control over our balance.’
