Shadowpieces is a choreography tailored to the dancers. The short, pure and subtle solos are conceived as intimate islands that are wonderfully attuned to the music.

Cindy Van Acker wrote these solos in close consultation with the dancers who were given a great deal of freedom during their quest in the studio. Each solo was tailored to the female dancer, according to her movement qualities, morphology, sensitivities and dynamics, and also to the themes that currently preoccupy her.
