Mezzo, 55’

After performing numerous shows in Portugal, Luis Marrafa moved to Brussels ten years ago. This is his first performance at Les Brigittines, in a disturbing solo where two characters intertwine in the same body, one cheerful and rooted in reality, the other darker, older, a ghost-like figure fleeing from the past. Could it be the ghost of his father?

Performed to the music of Bach, in constant back and forth between stage and video projection, and using a striking and highly personal gestural language, the choreographer-performer establishes a surreal and poetic world, propitious to the dialogue between these two beings. The result is a dynamic and magical movement where everything leaps ahead, often humorously: how do you shake off the weight of the past when you remain attached to it despite everything?
