Inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns’Le Carnaval des animaux (1886), musician Marc Melià and choreographer Louise Baduel unveil a vibrant and imaginative “pop-electro” twist on the timeless classic. Together, they craft a striking scenic ecosystem where the story of life’s evolution unfolds through abstract visuals, expressive choreography and extraordinary string instruments fashioned from everyday objects.
Away from the expected figurative choreographic representations, this version pays tribute to the humour and poetry of the composer. Moreover, it plunges the young audience into a comprehensive auditory, chromatic, and sensory experience. The result is an opportunity to give free rein to the imagination and feelings of everyone involved.
This will allow younger audiences to approach contemporary dance through a palette of emotions with powerful evocative power...
