A powerful portrait of a youth on fire.

Aya and Christelle grew up in Abobo, a lively and partisan neighbourhood of Abidjan.
They threw themselves into dance as one might jump into the arena, seizing a space traditionally reserved for men, to take their place and deconstruct assigned femininity.
One of them is nicknamed La Chinoise, famed for her fearless acrobatic feats, while the other goes by Gros Camion, proudly owning her solid build with a disarming, irresistible self-mockery.
And so they take the stage, haranguing the audience. They share their dreams; they tell their truths—always with a flicker of humour.

For Nadia Beugré, Aya and Christelle are mirrors of her own journey, mirroring girls from another generation, in an Abidjan that is at both familiar and forever changed. Their relationship with the city, their aspirations, and their fierce brand of femininity inspired them to create this electrifying dance duet.
