Domination, that of one person over another, is also reflected in gestures, movements and the geometry of bodies moving as one. ALL'ARME (Italian for “to arms”) skilfully questions the fine line between protection and aggression, strength and vulnerability.

Choreographers Panzetti and Ticconi—lauded for their captivating works HARLEKING and ARA! ARA! previously unveiled at the festival—continue their exploration of the embodiment of power.

At what moment does defence tip into violence? How can we respond to our need to protect ourselves without becoming a threat ourselves? In this striking creation for six performers, drawn from the martial lexicon of military choreography, Panzetti and Ticconi explore the rhythmic potentialof marching and the persuasive force of synchronised bodies moving in harmony.

With ALL'ARME, they chart a choreographic voyage—one that calls us to reflect on our inner fears.
