Creation

After Wavering abode (2010) and Company (2015), Ill seen is the third instalment in a trilogy inspired by the last short, dense, testamentary texts of Samuel Beckett. Freely delimited by Mal vu, mal dit (Ill Seen, Ill Said) (1981), the show depicts an old woman, a woman, and a child, three figures whose existence and cohabitation question the spectator. Beckett's harsh, terse writing finds its echo on stage in a dream-like, emotional play in which memory and the life cycle are expressed in rare movements, everything is in recollections and suggestive appearances.

Monia Montali and François Bodeux's work seeks to bring together theatre, dance, visual and sound arts to create a strong bond among these various forms of language, while relying on a dramaturgy of the image and perception.
